Ferring statement on the Ukraine crisis
Saint-Prex, Switzerland – 10 March 2022
As we witness the escalating humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, Ferring continues to stand by the people impacted and support those in need. As a healthcare company with a purpose to build families and help people live better lives, we are supporting three major emergency relief efforts:
- UNHCR to support families forced to leave Ukraine to seek safety and shelter
- UNICEF to protect children in Ukraine and those seeking refuge in neighbouring countries, many of whom are at high risk having been tragically separated from their families
- Project HOPE to provide essential medicines and medical supplies to those in need in Ukraine and surrounding countries
As part of a broader support plan, we are actively pursuing ways in which to donate Ferring medicines to help patients and support the healthcare systems which are under enormous pressure. We have already donated supplies of our heat-stable treatment to prevent excessive bleeding in women after childbirth. We are also working collaboratively with key partners and local agencies focused on maternal health, recognising that pregnant women in Ukraine are extremely vulnerable, potentially having been separated from their partners, with no access to maternal health services and without safe conditions in which to give birth.
We commit to continue our support for the global relief effort and for our patients, colleagues and partners suffering as a result of these devastating events.
